recording a solo album after more than 25 years of hits with the
band.
The Fort Payne native says he is writing and co-writing songs
for the solo project, and John Rich of the group Big and Rich is
producing. He called Rich "a super intelligent musical genius."
Owen says his album doesn't have a name yet, but it could be out
as early as January.
Owen talked about his solo recording while in Montgomery today
for an event benefiting the Alabama Music Hall of Fame. The band
Alabama was inducted into the hall in 1993.
