Many people are taking precautions.
Mary Ann Gray of Mobile says she doesn't want to take any chances of losing her plants to a freeze.
She's going to cover them.
Gray says, "I've already got my sheets out and ready to go and some newspaper for the ones (plants) that are low to the ground. I'll put newspaper on those, but I'll probably put some sheets across azaleas so I don't lose all of them."
Barbara Smith is the display coordinator for Bellingrath Gardens.
Although she's not expecting a freeze there, she says she plans on protecting some tender plants just brought out to the garden.
Smith says, "They'll have a light dusting of pine straw over the top to keep any frost from settling in."
She has this suggestion for anyone with tender plants.
Smith says, "For those who are in danger of getting a slight freeze, tropicals, anything you have in the line of house plants, bring it in if at all possible. Anything that you have like Easter Lilies or floral Hydrangeas for the holiday, I would also bring those inside or at least cover them."
If you do cover your plants, Smith suggests using cloth like an old sheet or a light blanket.
She says if you use plastic, plants can't breathe or get enough air.
