It was a rude wake up call for three people living at 111 Magnolia Avenue in Fairhope. A fire at midnight flattened a home. Fairhope officials say the couple living inside along with their nurse are doing okay thanks to some team work.“Two police officers were injured, it was James Nelson and Curtis Sullivan and they really need to be commended,” says Fairhope Fire Department Assistant Chief John Saracino. “I don't believe they would have made it if it had not been for them.” Neighbors say one of the people that lived here was wheelchair bound and it was a struggle for the husband to pull her out.
“With blood all over his hand he said he had broken a glass in order to get his wife out through there,” says neighbor Tim Mashburn. He says they saw the fire at midnight and began knocking on doors.
“It's terrifying, terrifying last night mean the intensity of the heat, 50, 75 yards away and you're feeling this heat,” says Mashburn. The three people in the home along with the two police officers were taken to medical care and are expected to recover.

Does anyone know anything about the condition of these people or the officers that were injured? With so many different stories that we comment on, it seems ashame that these people and these heroic officers have not been followed up on. JMO
