
Police Officer Desmond Brooks was arrested after police seized more than $300 and illegal drugs from his home in Theodore. Brooks' arrest was the result a tip indicating he was involved in illegal activity. He is facing charges of Theft of Lost Property Second Degree, Possession of a Controlled Substance (crack cocaine) and Possession of Marijuana Second Degree.
Later Wednesday evening, the investigation into Officer Brooks led to the arrest of Police Officer Aaron Porter, 32, of Mobile. He is facing a charge of Possession of a controlled Substance (cocaine).
The Mobile Police Department says it wants to send a clear message that they will not tolerate wrong-doing among officers, "It's not something we take lightly" says Police Chief Phillip Garrett. Brooks, 28, has been an officer for eight years.
