Mobile police say Kristopher Stewart robbed the Walgreen's on Three Notch Road Tuesday afternoon. But he wasn't looking for drugs. He wanted cash.
Police say Stewart threatened to shoot a store employee if they didn't give him money.
A witness gave police a good description. They arrested Stewart later in the day at a house in Tillmans Corner.

Sorry for the typo in my previous post:  I knew when I could tell he was selling dope it was to offset some of the cost of feeding his addiction.  Thanks again for sharing some of the details.  I don’t need to know who it was from...I just wanted a clearer picture of what he did, how it happened, etc., and what you shared gave me that.  I’ll be shedding tears for many years over this, as I have many other times...but I am only one of many who have been hurt by things he has done.  He has a 14, 8 and a 5 y/o and they don’t even know him (deadbeat dad)—probably best for them, to be honest.  The thing is, the 14 y/o took it upon herself to try to track him down recently in hopes of getting to know him and develop some type of relationship with him, and I can tell when I talk to her that she is not only angry but that her heart is broken over this/him—and how do we help her to understand the logic of his behaviors/actions when there is no logic to them??  Addiction SUCKS.

Thank you Jason. This whole situation just makes me sick. I watch those videos about the Montana Meth Project and see what it shows those folks doing in the commercials out of desperation and this is no different. Like I’ve said before, it doesn’t matter what flavor it is, it’s all ice cream. Meth, oxycontin, crack, WHATEVER the drug of choice, if you keep using long enough, you will do whatever it takes to get your next fix. I knew when he told me he was going to enroll at a methadone clinic (which I know now is a lie) b/c he had a $250 a day drug habit that he had to be nearing his bottom (if he admitted $250/day it was probably more than that) and I knew when I could tell he we selling dope it was offset some of the cost of feeding his addiction. We put him in sev. rehabs in the last year and he left them.  If a person doesn’t want help yet, you can’t help them, but even if gets rehab in prison, if he doesn’t get help for his MANY, many other issues, nothing is ever going to change.

Jason—Would you be willing to speak with me on the phone?

Did anyone talk to the clerk at Walgreen’s to ask them what happened?  I just wonder how it all took place.  Did he go in with no kind of disguise or anything, just walked in and demanded money?  If so, he had to be high when he did it.  I mean who in their right mind is going to go into a national chain drug store knowing they have video cameras, without disguising himself in any way and demand money and threaten to shoot the clerk.  How retarded is that????  Not that it makes any difference, but I just cannot understand what he was thinking.  Was the clerk a man or woman?  How old were they?  Did they give him money and how much?  Did the police recover it or any of it?  Was anyone hurt physically?  What about the other people in the store—did they get hurt or threatened?  Or was he in the drive-thru? I started to go to the store to get information (just because I want to know) but I am not sure they will even tell me anything—or if they can—since I am related to the him.

I already spoke to them about that.  It’s an error in their computer.  The phone number of the person whose name they are to call is a Saraland number...so they told me whoever entered it into their computer entered the wrong “location” of the hold.  I also called Baldwin County Jail and Baldwin County Sherriff’s office just to make sure.  Neither has anything on him.  I would guess it’s for the failure to appear on the 4 traffic violations or unpaid tickets or whatever it was in Saraland.  The person at the Metro that I talked to said in the computer by the entry “HOLD - BALDWIN COUNTY” it says “CONTACT:  BRIDGES 675-5331” but I don’t know if that means Sgt. Bridges, Officer Bridges, Detective Bridges or what Bridges means.  I have not called that number.  However it is a Saraland number and that’s why they think the “Baldwin County” part is wrong.  What I want to know is why there is not yet a hold from Tennessee (for the VOP).  Has anyone notified them that he is in custody?

Speaking of sad...here’s some food for thought: 1. Nearly all the problems in our society stem from people with low self-esteem.  2. Addicts/alcoholics classically have very low self-esteem.  (People with high self-esteem do not experiment with drugs in the first place.) 3. As long as there are drugs/alcohol, there will be crime/criminals.  4. At least 80% of all jails are populated by people who commited drug-related and alcohol-related crimes—means crimes commited to obtain drugs or alcohol (either possession, paraphanelia, DUI, shoplifting—to get money for their drugs/alcohol, bad checks and forgeries—to get money for their drugs/alcohol, theft/robbery—to get drugs/alcohol or money to get drugs/alcohol, credit card thefts—to get money to buy drugs/alcohol, domestic violence—related to the use of drugs or alcohol or “feenin” for drugs or alcohol, prostitution—to get drugs or money to buy drugs, etc.
