There’s a strange new twist to the already strange story of a woman’s body found in a freezer. People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals says the case has prompted the organization to display a billboard in Mobile. The billboard would show a woman’s severed leg on a plate.
As we’ve reported, Anthony Hopkins is charged with murder. Mobile police believe he killed his wife almost four years ago. Court documents obtained in a News 5 investigation show that police were tipped off when one of Hopkins eight children reported she was being raped by her father. The daughter told police the mother was dead and in a freezer. Hopkins is being held without bond and is due back in court Tuesday morning.
In a news release sent to local media, PETA says it hopes the billboard will make people consider “that all meat is murder”. In the release, PETA says “the group aims to demonstrate that everyone—not just humans—made of flesh, blood, bone, and emotions deserves respect and that cows, chickens and pigs also value their lives.”

I’m sure there are decency standards that all billboards must meet. A severed human leg should not pass the test. If it does then our elected officials must step in like Surf said.
