State Troopers say a woman was hit by an SUV when she walked into oncoming traffic.

According to the report, 55-year-old Brenda McBride was crossing Pace Boulevard south of Bobe street just after 9:00 Thursday morning. Troopers say she walked in front of an SUV, driven by Willie Taylor.

McBride was taken to Baptist Hospital where she was pronounced dead less than an hour later.

Troopers are waiting on toxicology results to determine if McBride had been drinking.
