Man succumbs to injuries in Sunday night accident. Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck

A Pensacola man has died after being struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Highway 29 and Interstate 10. 50 year old Lenard Whitman Jr. died Sunday night just after 9pm at Sacred Heart Hospital. Whitman was struck by a truck driven by Chad Retherford of Pensacola around 8:30pm Sunday on Highway 29. Whitman was transported to Sacred Heart in critical condition. No charges have been filed against Retherford. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
