Three adults and two children were on the boat at the time of the accident. Two patients had head injuries and were flown by Lifeflight Helicopter to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola. Two others were taken by ambulance. One patient refused treatment.

“No one on the boat was drunk, just barely over the limit and when you’ve been on a boat and haven’t eaten since lunch that all factors in.“
Another asinine statement…The driver drank…and drank some more..all the while knowing he hasnt ate in awhile…that makes him twice as irresponsible. And to say that he was over the limit but not drunk…LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL I Gotta ask…what kind of person gets drunk…yes drunk..legally speaking or figuratively…WHATEVER…and drives a boat with kids on it?? A drunk is a drunk…No mater how its looked at…You are living in fantasyland if you think that alcohol was not a contributing factor…...The alcohol in no way whatsoever benefited the drivers abilitys…..
Another thing…just a little advice….Dont go to court with the “I was over the limit but not drunk / impaired arguement” The prosecution will chew you up and spit you out and the jury will get a good chuckle out of it also.
TideFan,
No one on the boat was drunk, just barely over the limit and when you’ve been on a boat and haven’t eaten since lunch that all factors in. Undoubtably you’ve never drank a few beers. And to say God won’t help you, man what are you thinking. God is there always to help you. And no one was thrown out of the boat to hit rocks. Maybe you need to find out more facts. I’ve seen plenty of news stories that were wrong, facts were wrong. If either of the other adult thought the driver was impaired they would have stopped him fvrom driving the boat. He wasn’t drunk.
Southernpride7,
Wake up and see the light….I too am happy to see everyone is ok…..But be assured…when your skull hits a rock jetty…God aint gonna be there to save you. Religion or no religion…There is not cure for STUPID and ecpecially when you have a child on the boat. Adults…I really couldnt care less….but a kid has no choice..they are ultimately the big loser.
I wonder if anyone was on the boat praying not to get drunk???
what do you mean by “WE”? and letting the “TALK” die down? not understanding if you would like to talk “WE” can “TALK” more private just email me at
“We” all know that she works with them and “we” all know why she was there. Maybe “we” all need to let the “talk” die down and let this family try and work things out. All of us are soooooooo glad they ALL are ok. It could have been much worse.
Tidefan,
Your opinion is like well…. I am sure you can figure out the rest. I am not condoning any adult to drink and drive any type of vehicle. Actually as of right now I thank god that my family and the others that were on that boat INCLUDING the driver are still here and alive.
Back40,
And how would you know she was even single? But if it is any of your business she was with people from her work taking her son fishing.
Sorry….Razor…that was for Southernpride7
Razorsharp
You said “And just by being over the limit does not mean that he was actually drunk.“
While it is good that everyone is going to be ok..The decision was made by an adult to operate the boat while under the influence…Another adult should have stepped up and said something. And what I quoted from your statement is perhaps the most ridiculous thing Ive heard in quite a while…..
ok. you seem to know everything. like i said the 2 other adults on board knew he wasn’t impaired or drunk and the 2 kids being 13 and 14 could have driven the boat also. he hit the wall because it was dark and he couldn’t see it. how many accidents have happened here. so many that somebody needs to do something about that. this will be my last comment on the subject. i shouldn’t have ever made any comments. it just needs to die down and let this family try and salvage what they may have left of a family.
