An early morning house fire has claimed the life of a child and injured another in Chickasaw. The call came out around 1am for a house on fire on 3rd Avenue near Geronimo Street. A family member on scene told News 5 that ten people lived at the residence, including 8 children. Officials haven't released an identity of the child who died. Another child was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

How traggic. My heart and my prayers go out to the family and friends of this young child. The loss of a child to me seems to be the most horrible thing a parent could have to face. As a firefighter myself I have dealt with several fire deaths but thankfully by the grace of God I have never dealt with a child. Does anyone know if there is a fund set up for these people? If so could someone please post it on here.
