Saraland fire fighters say a deadly mobile home fire was an accident.Investigators say a burning candle on a bookcase sparked a fire in a bedroom Tuesday night.
The couple who lived there made it out safely, but their son, Ronald Gardiner was trapped inside.
There were working smoke detectors.
The victim's father told News Five he threw his son a fire extinguisher, but it didn't work.
"He told his dad, throw me the fire extinguisher and ya'll get out. So as far as we know, he did reman in the room and that's where he was found after the search and rescue . Once the initial fire was knocked down they did the search and rescue in that room and that's where they found him," Saraland Fire Department Spokesperson Jeff Ludlam.
An autopsy showed Ronald Gardiner died of smoke inhalation.
