PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - The U.S. Olympic Committee has appealed afederal judge's temporary restraining order that would allow banned
sprinter Justin Gatlin to run in the upcoming track and field
trials.
A USOC attorney filed the appeal with the 11th U.S. Circuit
Court of Appeals in Atlanta on Tuesday. He wants to overturn U.S.
District Judge Lacey A. Collier's order overriding Gatlin's
four-year doping ban.
Nine attorneys from the USOC, USA Track & Field and the U.S.
Anti-Doping Agency tried to pursued Collier to vacate his ruling
Monday, but the judge delayed his decision at least until Tuesday.
