that refined gas you are talking about has not made it to mobile i have been trying to get it but i found out the major brands are also trying to get it so there you go let me tell you as long as these major oil companies are merged there will be no relief in sight its all about wallstreet and demorats get the most contributions from wallstreet not to be political but its a fact biodiesel is already here see any price difference most major gas stations get a lock on oil at a cheaper price do you see them selling it any for less   its all about wallstreet everyday a different excuse for high gas prices and believe me i follow it

True!  It is unlike any other market.  If the cost of getting an orange to market goes up today, we don’t see that change until the new harvest is in the stores.  With oil, all they have to do is hint at an increase in the price of imported oil and we see it at the pumps as quickly as some guy can change the numbers at the station.

It is contrary to most of my beliefs about big government, but I wonder if oil should be treated like other utilities.  It has become as fundamental to our survival as water, yet we are at the mercy of some very greedy people.

Simple Answer BamaBob is they do it because they can.  No logic just simple greed.

There is refined gasoline and diesel fuel in storage facilities, underground tanks at gas stations and on tanker trucks moving around right now.  That gas had a production cost associated with it and that didn’t change overnight, but as soon as a bunch of guys in the middle east jack up the cost of a barrel of crude oil we see it at the pump.

How does that work?

the cost of fuel will not go down until the big oil companies are broken up   they dont have to compete with one another anymore   every day a new excuse for high fuel prices its all about the stockmarket now and hey what about those hearings on capital hill it was all for show   the major oil companies are putting us under and not to be political its the democrats who get the largest contributions from the major oil companies

Good Point Carl – I always get mad when they talk about the Federal Reserve full of Oil – Why are we stocking something that can be left in the ground where it is currently located?  If we would release some if not most of the oil reserve the price would drop quickly – Increase the supply lower the price – If everyone is really going to switch to other fuel sources in the next 20 years why are we keeping a big reserve?

Well they really need the money so they can buy up all the patents on promising new energy sources, such as ,solar ,fuel cells, steam and such,so when they ride this horse to death(oil) they will have a fresh horse to ride. All the while our politicians look the other way and whistle so they can’t hear the outrage coming up the road.

And the big oil companies say that they still need the tax cuts—-Yeah right they need tax breaks as much as the insurance companies do——I think companies should not get any tax breaks

I AM SICK OF THIS

Argh!!!!!

It will be interesting to see how fast the change in the cost of crude gets to the pumps.  Guarantee the prices will go up faster than it takes to refine that new barrel of crude.
