Florida Street between Emogene and Airport Boulevard has been partly closed off for seven months.
The city of Mobile was doing a multi-million dollar drainage project in the area.
Crews finished the job Friday afternoon.
Business owners told News 5 they lost a lot of money because customers didn't want to deal with the hassle of detours.
Now the street is reopened and they can't wait to see their sales increase.
"I'm just glad it's over with. I mean you know. It's finished and now, and now we can get ready for summer and everybody can come and have their favorite foods at Crockmeir's," said T.P. Crockmeir's manager Charlotte Skinner.
Phase two of the drainage project will be from Emogene Street to just
before Dauphin Street.
No word yet on when that will begin.
