The New Year got off to a good start in Downtown Mobile. What better way to ring in 2008, than with some football, food and festive fun. There was a big crowd enjoying all of the above at one sports bar in Downtown Mobile on New Year's Eve. And, what would New Year's be without resolutions, we asked some revelers about theirs,"I want to go see a Boston game at Fenway Park," said Justin Morris. Ellen Cook said, "the usual, lose weight, exercise more." Later on in the evening, some people headed out to Royal Street near Fort Conde for the City of Mobile's New Year's Eve celebration. Revelers got to see the city's annual fireworks show. The pyrotechnician in charge of lighting up the Mobile skyline told News 5, they had almost 2 thousand pounds of fireworks to set off.
