MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - "Boston Legal" actor William Shatnermay play a lawyer on TV. But his ad for an Alabama law firm is
raising concern at the Alabama State Bar.
The State Board of Bar Commissioners has asked the Alabama
Supreme Court to approve new rules on advertising by Alabama
lawyers. One of the rules would prohibit the use of paid actors and
testimonials. State Bar President Mark White says the proposed
rules are designed to keep lawyers' advertising professional.
Auburn lawyer Mike Slocumb uses Shatner in his ads. He says the
proposed rules would violate his First Amendment rights.

Well we certainly don’t want any of our lawyers doing anything unprofessional. Shame on those people accusing them of ambulance chasing when they are out just jogging for their health, besides lawyers have to buy gas too!
