A Prichard teenager accused of killing her 4 week old baby laughs as she walks into a courtroom for Thursday's preliminary hearing. While shackled to another inmate, 18 year old Tyese Lewis addressed a News Five camera saying, "I know it. I'm a celebrity." Officers attempted to quiet Lewis but she continued saying, "Let me speak to the camera. How y'all doing? I'm doing alright."
Lewis has been in jail since July 27th, when police say she confessed to killing her baby, Zarial Lewis Farris. During the hearing, investigators revealed for the first time details about that confession.
According to police, in her confession, Lewis said she didn't know what to do when baby Zarial kept crying, so she put her in a plastic bag and then put the infant in a bedroom closet.
More than 30 minutes later, police say Lewis went to check on the baby, but she wasn't breathing. That's when police say she put Zarial in a kitchen trash bag, then in a trash can at her home in Prichard.
Investigators believe the infant is somewhere in an Escambia County landfill near Brewton, but a search by police and FBI agents turned up nothing. The Allied Waste landfill is the largest dump in Alabama.
While Lewis' attorney, Art Powell, told News Five he thinks prosecutors will not be able to prove their case without finding the body, the judge who hear Thursday's testimony decided there was enough evidence to let a Grand Jury hear the case.
Lewis' bond was set last month at $100,000, but she is still in jail. Lewis' mother told News Five she doesn't know if her family will help Lewis get out.

And some people are worried about illegal immigrants??  If you want something to worry about, think about this: this young lady went to public school and sat in many poor teachers’ rooms next to some of our children!  I worry about our teachers throwing their hands up and saying, “I’m outta here!” Imagine dealing with this girl in a classroom!!

The bad in our nation is going to take way our world! This is a world of ease, which has caused us to believe that good will come to all.  WRONG! You must love yourself and others. Our Nation--Show your children love, teach dedication, motivation, and inspiration! Believe in yourself and others will believe in you.

She is about as ignorant as they come. Yes the baby is better off without her. She is back in heaven where she belongs. Not in this cruel world to have to deal with that kind of mother.

So she laughing and thinks she is a celebrity?? What a loser, Even a simple minded 12 year old knows better than to kill a baby. I wonder if she will laugh when she gets the lethal injection?  When did it become ok to kill a baby because it was crying???? The baby is better off without a loser to raise her.

You are exactly right about you having to raise the grands because I would have to myself.  I had my son when I was 18 and I raised him myself. Children these days are not as mature as my generation. All I can do is pray that I have raised, guided, talked and led them down the right path. Good Luck to you and your daughter.

Well I am going to make sure that I don’t get grand kids early. Because if I get them early then I will end up raising them and that is not going to happen. I will try to preven the problem from the get go.

Yes, I do have a teenage daughter (13) and a teenage son (17).  I have given my son a condom and he knows that I DO NOT condone him having sex and I will do the same for my daughter. I want grandchildren BUT after they have built their lives. I would hate to know if my daughter couldn’t have children and I started her on birth control at a young age knowing that it could make her sterile I would never be able to live with myself.
