Circuit Court Judge Herman Thomas is preparing for an October 29th ethics trial in the Alabama Court of Judiciary. Earlier this year, Thomas was suspended from the bench after the state's Judicial Inquiry Commission filed at least 15 charges against the judge for judicial misconduct.
John Wilkerson Jr., the clerk for the Judiciary Court, tells News Five new charges could be added if the Commission amends its complaint.
The commission's next regularly scheduled meeting is September 21st. If new charges are added, Jenny Garrett, Executive Director of the Judicial Inquiry Commission, says the complaint must be changed with ten days of that meeting.
News Five attempted to contact Judge Thomas and his attorney, but neither returned our calls.
