"We just basically decided after we got out of school, we were going to come down and see if anyone needed some help, you know cleaning up and kind of getting back on their feet," said Jason Ray, Chief Petty Officer, Navy Recruitment."We just want to help the people in need. You know we don't really having nothing to do than just go and help out these guys, that do need some help," said Hector Najera, Navy Officer.
After a tornado ripped through this area in East Pensacola Thursday morning, the people living here can use that help."We had a busted window and some roof problems and they found a piece of board from somewhere and nailed our window up for us.That was very nice of them," said Shirley Terrell, Homeowner.
Edison Sartes says he got inspired when he saw the 10 Navy men picking up debris from people's yards."When I seen this I was like well here goes my chance to give back and so I came out and I seen this guys and I was like hey mind if I help you all?,"said Edison Sartes, Good Samaritan.
The extra muscle power came in hand for the group, armed with no more than a rope and their bare hands, as they try to pick up the pieces in Pensacola."Even though none of us are from around here you know, we all have ties to this community, 'cause it's a Navy Community. And they support the Navy, so we came out to support them," said Ray.
