Communities across the country are invited to participate in tonight's 25th annual National Night Out. The event is designed to heighten citizen awareness about crime and drug prevention efforts.
The program is also designed to strengthen police-community partnership.
From 7 p-m until 10 p-m tonight -- law enforcement agencies ask
residents to lock their doors, turn on their porch lights and spend
the evening outside with neighbors and officers.
National Night Out involves thousands of communities in all 50
states.
