If you are shopping for a new car, the Mobile Police Department may be able to help.
The department is holding a vehicle auction on Tuesday, January 8. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. The auction will take place at the MPD Impound Lot at 1251 Virginia Street. There will be 50 to 60 vehicles on the auction block.

Mobile Police are required to hold towed vehicles for 30 days. The police department does send out notices and then sells the vehicles if the owner does not pick them up.
