Mobile County Deputies delivered Michael Crocker from Mississippi to Metro Jail tonight. Just weeks ago, he was labeled the victim of a torturous crime. Now Crocker returns to the area a suspect in the murder of his neighbor, and co-worker Stephen Perret. "Mr. Crocker what would you like to say to the Perret family?" asked WKRG News 5's Tiffany Craig as Perret walked into the Sheriff's Office. Though difficult to understand, Crocker responded, "They know good and well I didn't do this". Deputies say Crocker cut his own tongue with a razor blade.

"The forensics evidence, the blood investigation, the blood spatters...physical evidence obtained in the house, and different stories by Mr. Crocker... he had to have done this himself" says Sheriff Sam Cochran. Deputies say he did it nearly a week after they found Perret shot to death inside Crocker's truck. The sheriff believes Crocker stole $200,000 dollars from their employer, Vulcan Industrial Services in Mount Vernon. "It's a very bizarre type investigation involving self mutilation. But, we believe that's all part of an effort to divert our attention in the other crimes that were being committed", the Sheriff said.

The sheriff says when deputies arrested Crocker in Meridian, Mississippi, they found him with his bags packed...ready to run. The sheriff says Crocker is a suspect in Perret's murder, but, he hasn't been charged with that yet. He has been charged with first degree theft and reporting false statements to law enforcement.

since they let this guy out on bond today I do hope they insisted that he stay in the state of alabama.

if the arrest took place in bay springs then why is all the news reporting it took place in meridian? Also Mike does not look like himself, his hair color is even different, kinda looks like he was on the run.

Hey there Mississippi......Mike had fallen earlier this year at work. He was not working when O’Neal was killed, that is why O’Neal was in Mike’s truck that fatal day. I know that he was still out of work when all this had happened.

I would like someone elses opinon, if you watch the tape in some sort of way he seems like he is kinda happy, but if you watch real close he seems like he is totally lost, kinda like he is out there, does anybody that knows mike see this too?

Everyone is so right about having to answer to our Good Lord and yes he will be judged but we are a society of law and we must live by the laws of the land too.

Not only did this affect Mike’s immediate family but also his nieces and nephews who have to live in small town Mississippi. The town that he and his family were living in has a population of less than 2000 and everybody knows everyone else’s business. The sad part of all of this is the innocent family members of both families. I do not know the Perrett (O’neal) family but I cannot not imagine what they are going through. The death, the betrayal, the loss..... this is the cruelest of cruel.

Finally, for a man who is only 42 years old he sure has aged poorly. My grandfather has more hair than he does..... what is the deal with that. I remember Mike being a very large man years ago, has he been sick or what? Not trying to bash the man but I thought I read in someone’s post about a head injury earlier in the year????

I still think he is guilty as can be......I have said it from day one. Yes you are right, he will have to answer to one.

I’am not taking up for mike crocker, the only thing that i’am saying is that let God be the judge of him. I do feel sorry for his wife, she is a very very sweet woman. If Mike did do this than he will have to pay for it every day of his life. God bless the perret family, I wish them the best in life. People should feel sorry for Mikes family too, just because he may had something to do with this, or did this hisself doesn’t mean that his family should have to pay, they have lost one of theres too.

To be honest.....I totally agree with you. I have met Mike’s daughter and beautiful grandbaby, however never met his wife. I just would love to have bee a fly in the truck when Mike and Oneal went to breakfeast Friday morning (the day Oneal was killed they went to breakfeast together) we will never know what was really said or did. I hope that Mike’s wife and family can sleep at what HE has done.
