A gas station clerk called 911 this afternoon. When officers showed up, the clerk said something was wrong with some customers in the bathroom. Police knocked on the door, but did not get a response.
At that point, police pried open the bathroom door and found Jeanette Hawes
lying on the floor with her two young children. Police say Jordan and Shakayla had stab wounds to the chest. Their mom was holding a black steak knife and was covered in blood.The two babies were rushed to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead on arrival.
Hawes has been charged with two counts of murder. Police are still searching for the father.
