What would emergency officials do if there was a shooting at your child’s school? It looked as thought it really happened at one Mobile County school this morning, but it was only a drill. First responders got a chance to practice during the drill at Shaw High School. Firefighters, police and other emergency officials reacted as if this was the real thing; others played the role of injured students and teachers. It was just practice today, but in the event of a real emergency, will those who could save your child’s life be ready? "We are very blessed with caring professional E.M.S. workers, they volunteered their time to do this, and they very talented, like I said, everything went very well today, there are always going to be places we can improve, every situation is going to be different," said Captain Hope Odom with Mobile Fire-Rescue. If you heard gunshots at Shaw High School today, that was part of the drill. Mobile Fire-Rescue says they wanted the drill to be as real as possible. But, we’re told blanks were used, not real ammunition.
