Police say he got away with less than $1,000, but it could be enough to buy him 20 years in a federal prison. Today, a federal grand jury indicted Anthony Smith on bank robbery charges.
Smith is accused of robbing the Regions Bank at 2000 Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile on March 4th. Police say Smith jumped over the counter and started helping himself to cash.
Smith took off in a white pick-up truck, but a police officer spotted him getting onto the interstate and pulled him over.
Police say Smith took $976.45 during the heist. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in federal prison, the maximum penalty for a first time bank robber.

It takes some big alls to rob a bank! Dumb dumb dumb! Good luck with this one!

This kid looks like he is scared crapless which may be a good thing, he should be.  I understand as do most people that times are tough and are only getting tougher but the recent rash of bank robberies all over the southeast is just intolerable.  We do not always have to have what we want when we want it, sometimes we have to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps and tighten our belts.  It will get better but robbing people is not the answer.

This kid has no past record.  He used no weapon.  He served our country in Irag and this is just a cry for help.  I hope everyone will keep him in their prayers.

He looks so young to be in such a bad situation, but so did baby-faced nelson, which no one dared call him.I wonder about this kid’s past record.
