DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) - A metal detector at the Houston County
Courthouse turned up far more than the usual coins and keys.
A Dothan man attempting to report to his probation officer and
pay some fines was re-arrested when two plastic baggies full of
marijuana came out along with the pocket change.
Sheriff's officers say 51-year-old Malcom Williams tried to
escape when the drugs appeared yesterday (Friday) but was caught.
Williams was being held in the Houston County Jail without bond
for violating his probation. He pleaded guilty to felony
third-degree escape in April 2007, according to court records.
