He says Alexander's Grocery doesn't follow the law and wants police to take action, he called WKRG News 5 for help.
April 11th 2007, Mobile Police bust Alexander's Grocery. The charge? Selling alcohol to a minor.
Parton says, "It seems as though the owner of Alexander Grocery store does not care about this neighborhood. So, if she doesn't care about us, we don't need her here either and we wish the city would get on the ball and do what they tell us they're going to do".
When police charged the store owner in April, she denied any wrongdoing.
When WKRG News 5 approached her last Thursday, she said she's just trying to make an honest living.
But, officers say they've busted her repeatedly for selling booze to kids.
Mobile Police Chief Phillip Garrett says, "We can show and verify that we have made at least three documented cases there..and it resulted in three at least three convictions at that location".
Chief Garrett says he's turned the cases over to the city's legal department and he expects the issue to go to the city council. But, it takes time.
Parton says, "I have every bit of faith in the chief of police in following through. I'm sure this is on it's way through the city legal system. We just need them to move a little bit faster."
Chief Garrett says he'd like to see the store shut down completely for two days and for the city to pull it's alcohol license for six months.
He expects the city council to take up the issue in the next week or two.
