The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office is looking for a Crestview man wanted for setting his girlfriend on fire.

Deputies were called to the Tom Thumb convenience store on North Ferdon Boulevard around 10:40 Sunday night. When they got there, they found 45-year-old Madeline Miller suffering from serious burns to her body.

Miller said she got into a fight with her boyfriend, 41-year-old Harold Haynes. During the fight, she says he doused her with rubbing alcohol and then used a cigarette lighter to set her on fire. Haynes then drove Miller to the Tom Thumb, dropped her off and left.

Deputies went to the couple's home on Farmer Street, but Haynes was nowhere to be found.

This is deplorable. Why can’t people just walk away from an argument, cool down, and then calmly discuss the “issues”?  There is absolutely no reason for things to escalate to this inhuman level.
