The Mobile County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting death that happened around 9:00 o'clock Saturday night.
Deputies were called to a home on Jefferson Avenue and 15th Street where they found 20 year old Anthony Higgins III dead.
According to investigators, Higgins grandfather, Anthony Higgins Sr., may have shot his grandson in self defense after the younger Higgins attacked his grandmother with a knife.
Authorities say Higgins lived at the home.
The Sheriff's Office will turn over their findings to a grand jury, who will determine whether or not charges will be filed.
