The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office and the Alabama Marine Police are looking into the death of a man on the Tensaw River.Emergency dispatchers received a call about a boater in distress on Gravine Island around 1:30 Saturday afternoon.
Gravine Island is on the Tensaw River, roughly halfway between Mobile and Bay Minette.
It took rescue crews some time to get to the location and bring the man to Cliff's Landing, where a command post had been set up.
The victim was apparently dead on arrival.
Investigators on the scene would not speculate how the man died.
The victim's name has not been released.
Authorities would only say he was a 45-year old white male.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
