News 5 has new information about Lam Luong and a phone call he made to the family last night. News Five's Tiffany Craig talked to the family just minutes ago. They told her that Lam Luong made a collect call to the family last night. During the conversation, he told them he wasn't afraid of the electric chair. He also asked them to bring him a carton of cigarettes. He also told them that he wanted to be more famous than the 9/11 hijackers. Luong is charged with four counts of capital murder for throwing his four children off the Dauphin Island Bridge. News 5 will have a complete report from the family, tonight on News 5 at Six.

Since the idea of changing the bridge name originally came up on this thread, I need ya’ll to do me a favor-please go to the forum and post, post on the story link and sign the petition.In addition, please email to the links I provided for Rep. Collier, Gov. Riley and Sen. Brooks. There has been some negative response to renaming the bridge, and I think those of us who support it need to voice our opinions. There is also a poll be conducted by wkrg. And thanks to all who have already signed the petition.

To all interested, I have started a forum discussion on renaming the bridge The Four Angels Bridge. It is now under other forum topics-so please follow the links to bring it up to front page. There are links to our governor, state representative and senator emails as well as a link to an online petition that I started for this purpose. We need those emails sent and signatures on the petition PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most states have fencing on the highest points of bridges to help prevent people from throwing things over especially where boat traffic runs beneath and to discourage “suicidal jumpers”. To this man the height of this bridge was obviously a main factor. (prevention).

I have checked on having the bridge renamed, and this is what I was told would have to be done by the State Highway Dept-bridge naming comes under the legislation or through request of the governor. I don’t know who the state representative is for that area, as I live in Semmes, but will be glad to help in anyway I can. I think the renaming of the bridge to honor the babies is a beautiful way to memorialize them.

First, I would like to say That I feel very bad for the mother. Secondly, I think Mr. Loung should be taken to the tallest bridge in the world and thrown off so he can see how those babies felt. Thirdly, I think it’s a very good ideal about changing the name of the bridge but first we need to see this family thur this.

yes could some one contact me on how to maybe get the right people to hear the idea of bridge name change to Four Angels Bridge, I know nothing about the turning of political wheels, cogreesmen, senators or local government, I need help or someneone get the ball rolling on this my email is could someone contactm or put me in contact with who needs to be contacted, I am definately willing to persue this idea but need help from the proper authorities, Would appreciate being contacted by city officials, I know they are pretty busy right now, would would appreciate some help from anyone who is concerned…
