It was a tragic Labor Day Holiday in Baldwin County as two cyclists were hit and killed in a traffic accident. It happened just before 9 this morning on Bromley Road off Highway 31 in the Stapleton community. Alabama State Troopers have identified the two cyclists as Archie Clemons Jr. and William Imle. We talked with one neighbor who says he heard the accident and rushed out to help, "I can hear basically any vehicle come around there and you heard the screeching, the brakes, tires and a big boom and I knew something was happening so I got on the phone and dialed 911,” said neighbor Darron Brown. Alabama State Troopers say 19 year old Patrick Ballard, the driver of the pickup truck that hit the two cyclists; and his female passenger were both thrown from the truck. We’re told Ballard was admitted to the hospital for treatment. Troopers say the female passenger was treated and released. Troopers say no charges have been filed at this time and the crash is still under investigation.
