Bishop State Community College is making cuts to get a balanced budget. The college is cutting faculty in order to deal with the state's possible funding cuts and fewer students at the school.
Sixteen non-tenured employees were told that their positions had been cut.
A majority are teachers.
BSCC President Dr. James Lowe says Bishop State has served 5,000 students in the past, but currently 2,650 students are enrolled.
