Fair officials are placing emphasis on health and safety, and they're encouraging patrons to do the same.
This is especially true at the petting zoo.
Dennis Cook is the vendor who brings the petting zoo to the fair.
He said he also brings plenty of other equipment.
Cook said, "We've got hand washing dispensers out here, towels and everything. One of the rules we came up with is to have a border around all the fences to keep the manure and stuff from coming out where the people are. And we do not let anyone go in with the children inside the animal pen like they used to years ago."
The fair runs from October 19 through October 28.
