Inmate Steals Prison Van

Mobile County Sheriff's Office Mobile Metro Jail An Alabama inmate thought a prison van was his ticket to freedom. Now he has a story to tell his metro jail cellmate.

An Alabama prisoner who decided to steal a corrections van didn't get too far.
Daniel Ray was a work release inmate with the Department of Corrections.
A Mobile County Sheriff's Deputy noticed the van and deployed spike strips on Ramsey Road just off Highway 90.
The van's tires deflated and Ray started running.
Deputies and Mobile Police Officers surrounded the area and Daniel Ray was quickly captured.
No word on where Ray stole the prison van.
He is in Mobile Metro Jail.
