The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office says a Destin man converted a room of his home into an indoor pot farm.
Deputies served a search warrant on George Ward, Jr's home on Country Club Dr. East in the Indian Bayou neighborhood this afternoon. They found 40, high-grade marijuana plants. Deputies say Ward made modifications to the room that helped the marijuana plants grow without sunlight.
The Sheriff's Office seized the plants worth $43,000.
Sheriff Charlie Morris says indoor pot farms are becoming more prevalent in Florida, but promised police are committed to shutting them down.
