Officer Desmond Brooks has been charged with possession of crack cocaine, marijuana and theft of lost property. He's been with the force for about 8 years.
Aaron Porter is charged with possessing cocaine. He's only been with the Mobile Police Department for a year.
Both patrol officers worked at the 3rd precinct on St. Stephens Road.
After a tipster alerted Chief Phillip Garrett, the department organized a sting operation. According to court records, Officer Brooks took the bait and didn't report confiscated cash and drugs.

Chief Garrett says he will not tolerate officers who don't follow the law. "This is a proud profession. These two officers have disrespected me and everybody that wears this uniform."
Both Porter and Brooks are out on bond and are expected to be in court on Friday morning. The officers have been suspended from duty and will have a separate hearing before being fired.
Interestingly enough, we interviewed Officer Aaron Porter last year after he graduated from the police academy.
Here's what he told us about wearing the badge. "I''ve always wanted to be a police officer ever since I was young. There was a need for work in the Ministry where I was. I chose to go in that for my love for God and my love for people compelled me. A police officer is not that much different."
