Mobile Police are investigating three separate home invasions. The first happened shortly before two o'clock Tuesday morning on South Barker Drive. The second, on East Linwood Avenue off Dauphin Island Parkway and the third on Morgan Avenue. The crimes all happened within an hour.
During the first case, two men forced their way inside, at least one of the suspects fired shots. No one was hurt. On Linwood Drive, two men also forced open the door. Police say they struck a woman with a handgun and demanded money. She received minor injuries to hear head. On Morgan Avenue, a man was shot three times after four or five men kicked open his door. He was taken to the hospital where he was treated for his injuries. Kathy O'Daniel of Mobile said you can't even be safe in your home anymore. "We've bought burglar bars for both back and front of our doors because my mother has always been afraid of that. And I mean we're getting to where we're scared to leave the house. We won't leave it unattended at all," said Kathy O'Daniel of Mobile. Officers say robbery is believed to be the motive in all these cases. At this time, the crimes do not appear to be connected, but police are still investigating.
