CypMrk, i guess it would depend on how fast the vehicle was going. and a bicycle verses a vehicle would not be hard to do. i just hope the gentelman is ok.

I believe they meant 50 feet horizontally, 50 feet up vertically,I think he would be listed as critical or deceased. He was on his way to work so I hear, bless the young man’s heart, Hope he recovers fully and quickly.

first of all i hope the gentleman on the bicycle recovers fully. as to where they got the 50 feet i would think they could tell by where the bicycle was as to where the victim landed.  mobile needs bicycle trails, i have seen some cyclist take to the road in very congested traffic.  i saw one fly out of the university of south alabama the other day, not look crossed old shell rd, like it was a country road. they need their own path.

Now really wkrg, how to you know for a fact, that he was thrown 50’ in the air? Obviously by the sound of your report, no one witnessed the incident, and if Mr. Smith is the one who stated he was knocked 50’ in the air, how does he know how far up he went. In the first place, if you fall from 50’ in the air, you’d be in much more serious condtion than “fair”. By the way, is that Mr. Smith in your video, kneeling by his bike, talking on his cell phone????..Get real.
