If this Bell-47 helicopter looks familiar, there’s a reason. This is the same model aircraft you see at the beginning of every episode of MASH. It’s 60 years old too.“Everything on it has been replaced except for the name plate or data plate itself--the engine, drive train,” says pilot Joe Jablecki. “All of that is replaced on a scheduled basis.” Jablecki has 30 years flight experience with more than 4000 hours of flight time. The retired doctor learned how to fly after being drafted in Vietnam.
“You can go anywhere you want, you can go up down, left right, hover over trees look at birds look at alligators, it's just free,” says Jablecki. Riders can fly around Battleship Park and or downtown depending on the distance of the trip.
