The Mobile Police Deparment says it's first ever gun buyback program was a huge sucess. Police collected about 750 guns Saturday. That's more than seven times what they were expecting to bring in. People who turned in their guns received a $100 dollar gift card to Wal-Mart. So many people showed up that Police Chief Phillip Garrett and members of his staff had to make several trips back to Wal-Mart to buy more cards. They eventually had to dip into their pockets to pay for them. Mobile police say they plan to hold another gun buyback in the future.

One good thing… this helps my Wal-mart stock.  Thank you Mobile for bringing in your broken guns, for 100.00 gift card.

Do you really think this will make a dent in the crime rate? NO WAY.

Again, spend the money on cameras to watch high crime areas.
