Gulf Shores Police say a man armed with a handgun held up Mercado La Gringa, a grocery store, today.
Police say the suspect talked with the store clerk for several minutes before pulling out a gun and announcing the robbery.
The clerk told investigators the robber took money from the store's safe and cash register.
The clerk and an assistant were forced to lie on the floor before the robber left.
He's described as a six-foot-tall skinny white makle wearing a black jacket, forest green t-shirt with yellow writing, khaki pants and light brown boots. Police say he had dirty blonde hair and glasses.
