MONTGOMERY - Governor Riley today made the following statement in reaction to the Government Accountability Office’s decision regarding the U.S. Air Force tanker contract:

"It's important to note that the GAO did not make a judgment on the aircraft put forward by either company but on the process. We continue to believe Northrop-Grumman's tanker is the superior product for our warfighters. If the selection process needs to be redone, then I hope it's done quickly, and, I'm still confident the Northrop-Grumman tanker will win again. What's most important is that the best aircraft be chosen for those who serve in our military and that political decisions never be allowed in the military's selection process."

well i think its just great gov riley wants to play fair, we see what trying to play fair gets you nothing but mud in the eye.  washington state is the biggest pork state in the country. we are supporting boeings salaries with our tax dollars and that crow will not fly.

I was afraid that this was going to happen after they started replacing some of the top heads in the Air Force. Some people never get excited until it’s all over and then it’s too late.

Our politicians act like this is a fair fight and good will win over evil.  That ain’t the real world in D.C.!

Why jump on Governor Riley?  It’s the bought and paid for politicians in Washington who whined until they got their way.  And, they are still saying on news today that “planes need to be built in the USA” - I just want one of those greedy fools to tell me just what country I live in if Mobile isn’t in the USA.  Furthermore, I want a refund of all taxes I’ve paid to that “foreign government” for the pst 50 + years.

It is like that and how can it ever be a fair bidding process now? That is why we have public bid laws!!!!

This is sort of like taking sealed bids for something and when it’s over the loser decides he wants to bid again since he now knows what the other bid is. Cowboy BOB doesn’t have a clue.

Get your head out of your !@#$...

Keep on dreamin’ Riley, while Boeing cuts our collective throats!

This is hard ball dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
