MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The son of Alabama Governor Bob Rileyhas given a sworn statement to a Congressional committee denying
the claims of a former lawyer for Riley's 2002 campaign.
Rob Riley's affidavit, posted by the House Judiciary Committee
on its Web site, says he never said former Alabama Governor Don
Siegelman conceded the 2002 election in exchange for a promise that
a federal investigation of his administration would end.
Rob Riley's affidavit describes as false the claims of Jill
Simpson. She has given sworn testimony to the committee indicating
politics was involved in Siegelman's prosecution.
The committee has begun a hearing on allgations of selective
prosecution by the Justice Department, including Siegelman.

I would lean more to believing Ms. Simpson. After consideration of all parties involved it seems that her actions were driven by her character with nothing to gain but telling the truth.
