E.J. Jones didn't even have to get out of the car to get his free flu shot!"This is so easy," says Jones. "I appreciate them doing this, it's just been a lifesaver especially when you're 83 years old and can't get around like you used to."
Jones and thousands of other people rolled down their windows...and rolled up their sleeves to fight off the flu bug.
"It was fast and it was quick," says Chase Bryan. "I think everybody should do it this way."
The free flu clinics were offered in Bay Minette, Loxley and Foley Monday. But there was more to the clinics than just the shots.
"This is a real-time training exercis to prepare for mass vaccinations," says Bay Minette Police Chief Michael Rowland. "We want to see how effective this drive-thru clinic would be in the case of an epidemic or pandemic."
"This is exactly how we'll do it during a disaster," says Camilla English with the Alabama Dept. of Public Health. "We'll set up drive-thru clinics, we'd bearing wearing masks, the public would be wearing masks, so we're working on our game plan."
