An officer responded to a report of a man with a gun. He couldn't find the man, but he did smell a strong odor of marijuana. The officer followed that smell to a house down the street. Inside, he found McBryde and six other people.
All seven denied having marijuana. But McBryde changed his tune when the officer said a drug sniffing dog was on the way. Police say McBryde admitted to having a small bag of marijuana. Another person said they had smoked it.
McBryde was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and was released after posting a $390 bond.
McBryde now works for a radio station in Macon. Before leaving Mobile, he had a show on NewsRadio 710 AM. McBryde also ran an unsuccessful campaign for the Mobile County School Board and worked for the Mobile County Sheriff's Office.
