MOSS POINT, Miss. (AP) - Moss Point Interim Police Chief Frederick Gaston says the
52-year-old Tommy Robertson was stopped on a city street Monday by an
officer who saw him weaving in the roadway.
Gaston says Robertson, a Moss Point attorney, was charged with
DUI second offense and careless driving. He says Robertson was
cited for a DUI second offense because Robertson's 1997 DUI charge
occurred more than five years ago.
Robertson was convicted in 2004 on a DUI charge in Lafayette
County Justice Court after being cited by campus police at the
University of Mississippi after the Ole Miss-Texas Tech football
game in 2003. Robertson was fined $623.50 and ordered to complete
an alcohol safety program.
Records show he pleaded guilty to DUI in Biloxi in 1997.
Robertson said he had been in Biloxi watching football with friends
and was stopped on his way home to Moss Point. His sentence was not
available.
