A stolen credit card and a three day shopping spree lands two Baldwin County women in jail, now they may really have to pay up.
Surveillance video shows two women buying hundreds of dollars worth of groceries. "Who goes and buys nine hundred and thirty-nine dollars worth of groceries at Winn Dixie and then a hundred and sixty-one dollars five minutes later and then goes across to Cain's and does 400 dollars worth," says Beazer McMichael.
The problem according to police, they did it with McMichael's stolen credit cards. "Evidently I left my wallet on the side of my truck and it fell off when I was putting my ice in the ice chest. I didn't have a clue till about an hour and a half later when Bank of America called me three times, telling me about three purchases that were right in a row."
In three days, police say Brenda Porter and Michell Allen signed McMichaels name to almost two thousand dollars worth of charges. "She must have been good at it cause she was using it everywhere," says McMichael.
Most of those charges were caught on video surveillance cameras and once police identified Porter it didn't take long to make an arrest says Sgt. Tony Fuqua. "She really didn't have a good reason, she just said she knew it was wrong, she was sorry, she doesn't do that stuff and most of her friends that she hangs around with talked her into doing some of this stuff."
"I felt violated, irritated, mad. I was mad at myself for being careless," says McMichael. He says he's happy about the arrest but fears the punishment won't fit the crime. "When you do catch em, don't do that again," he says slapping his wrist, "that's our system and its ridiculous."
Porter and Allen remain behind bars at least for now their shopping days are over.
Porter faces around thirty theft and fraud charges. Foley police expect to make one more arrest in the case.

These women new beyond shadow of a doubt this was wrong and should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. let’s make a example of them and show the rest of the criminals that we are sick and tired of this lawlessness. I bet these women have priors on their records if someone will investigate further.

Those girls are old enough to know there is no such thing as a free lunch.  Shame on them.
