"We have to protect ourselves and the community," says Lt. David White with the Foley Police Department. "We don't want to hurt anyone in the process of making an arrest but sometimes it takes force to get somebody to comply."
The two women, one a relative of the stabbing victim, the other a relative of the suspect, yelled profanities at each other then began punching and slapping each other.
"We were already on the scene for the stabbing call," says White. "Anyone who knows we're there and continues to fight is a dangerous subject intending on hurting someone."
Travis Pickens has been charged with 1st degree assault. Detectives say Pickens stabbed Christopher Henton at least seven times to settle a 50 dollar debt. The two women who were fighting were charged with disorderly conduct.
