High water kept a fire crew from getting to a house fire on River Road.
Three other fire fighters who lived nearby managed to put out the flames.
When there's a downpour, the Styx River and Flat Creek rise, flooding River Road.
There's only one way in so that makes it hard to respond to emergencies of any kind.
Charlie Weekley lives along River Road.He says medical helicopters are the back-up plan.
"It's in the back of your mind always, but you try not to think about it as a big issue because of the helicopters. Now if the weather was really, really bad where they couldn't fly it would be a major deal to get somebody out here in case of heart attack, stroke or something like that," said Charlie Weekley of Robertsdale.
Baldwin County Engineer Cal Markert says River Road is in the flood plain and if the county tried to fix it, it would cause flooding in other areas.
